Matthew Monaco was an excelling and accomplished law student at both Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, where he graduated, and before that at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego.  While at Thomas Jefferson, Matthew was ranked in the top 10 students of his class.  Matthew was an active member of Thomas Jefferson’s Moot Court team and competed in the National Moot Court Regional Competition in Los Angeles.

During Matthew’s third year of law school he had the honor of participating in the Prosecutor’s Clinic with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.  Following his completion of the Prosecutor’s Clinic, Matthew was accepted as an extern at the County Attorney’s office for the Spring semester.  While there, Matthew was assigned to the Community Based Prosecution and Repeat Offender Prosecution bureaus.  Therefore, even in law school Matthew received hands-on courtroom experience.

After graduation, Matthew first joined HORNE SLATON as a law clerk and is now a member of the firm as an associate attorney. Since joining HORNE SLATON, Matthew has worked on some of the most complex cases in the firm, and even in the state, including, probate, family, civil, and appellate matters.  Matthew is a true litigator, both in legal research/writing and in the courtroom.  There is no challenge to difficult for him to tackle. Matthew is an exceptional member of our team.
